Pocklington Town 2- 1 Hornsea Town
CHURCHILL TYRES sponsored Pocklington Towns 1st team closed the gap on top spot with a hard fought and well earned last gasp win at home to Hornsea Town last Saturday. With both sides working hard, there was a Ben Alport opener to give Pock a slender lead at the break but it was Hornsea who levelled mid way through the second half to leave the game finely balanced.
If fell to Carl Brewer to swing in a corner and veteran player Chris Murray to force the ball home through a crowded 6 yard box in the last couple of minutes to secure Town a priceless 3 points in a tough game. The team are on the road this weekend when they travel to take on Reckitts FC.

Pocklington Town 2nds 2 - 0 Bishopthorpe White Rose
CHURCHILL TYRES sponsored Pocklington Towns York league 2nd team maintained their second place in Division 1 after a left foot Chris Saltmer finish and Szymon Czubik finish saw them through to a hard earned 2-0 win at home against Bishopthorpe White Rose FC last weekend. A much improved second half performance after it was 0-0 at the break saw Town dig deep for the win. This Saturday sees them in East Riding cup action at home to Humber league Division 1 side Brandesburton AFC.
Brandesburton AFC Reserves 0 - 2 Pocklington Town 4ths
In an enthralling game in the East Riding County league Division 3, YARA sponsored Pocklington Towns 4th team had to be at their best away against Brandesburton Reserves last Saturday to bag the 3 points in a tough game on the road. It was an even first half as both keepers made great saves to keep their teams at 0-0 to leave the match finely balanced at the interval and it was Town substitute Ronnie Brown that broke the deadlock with a powerful stinging shot that the home keeper couldn't hold. Pock had to weather some serious pressure as the home side pressed for the equaliser. Keeper Chris Roper showed great calmness and handling under pressure while Towns back four of Tyler Boynton, Adam Bagley and in particular Cal Liddle and Archie Lyons held firm, well supported by a midfield cast of skipper Ben Davidson, John Rastall, Matt Martin and Cal Dunham.
In last minute drama with the game in stoppage time, a headed Lyons clearance picked out Dan Croft inside his own half and after a lung busting 60 yard run, leaving the covering defenders in his wake, Crofty showed great composure to finish past the keeper and seal the win. This result moves Pock up to mid table and they face another tough home game this Saturday against local rivals Market Weighton as Town look to consolidate further with a young team.
Congratulations to the Chrysalis Men Mental Health MOMs in Saturday's York Minster Engineering Football League Division 1 2nd team and ER County League Division 3 4th team games - Cam Cree for the 2nds and Archie Lyons for the 4ths. It's great to see two of Towns rising stars turning in great performances for their club week in week out and contributing to some great results for their teams
