Meet The Champions - Joseph Cooney

Tell us how you felt playing in the game vs Hedon with the support you had on the day?

It was great to see so many within the club travel all the way over to hedon, to support us in the biggest game of the season. It helped the players give a little bit extra on the day.

Apart from the Hedon game, which was your most memorable game and why?

The game against Sculcoates the previous week was massive. The lads displayed brilliant character to hold on to a 1-0 lead for a large part of the game against a side that was still fighting for the title, before putting the game to bed with the second goal.

How were the celebrations after the game?

Hilarious. The celebrations were great, it was good to see so many lads out enjoying what they had put into a long and taxing season. And looking forward to more to come.

What are your plans/targets for next season?

As far as targets, I just like to focus on each match, try and win every game as it comes. But if I had to say anything about the longer term, I think if we manage to keep the group together and add some more returning from injuries, then silverware next year would be more than achievable!
