You started the season with Selby, what made you want to join pock?
As soon as I decided to leave Selby it was a no brainer to come back home. I've got a lot of very good mates playing in the team, every time we spoke it was clear there was a real togetherness in the squad and buzz around the team. That combined with playing for the club for many years previously it was an easy decision.
Having struggled with injuries your playing time has been limited at the back end of the season but it's noticeable you have had a presence on the sidelines, what do you think you have brought to the team in that capacity?
Injuries are always frustrating! Especially so with the timing of this one, knowing the run in, upcoming big games and what was at stake. From getting the injury the full focus has been helping out the lads in any way possible. From the sidelines I’ve just tried to just try to pass on any experience where I can. The boys have been first class every time they’ve crossed the white line and been a pleasure to watch.
A late goal vs Hornsea, for those that weren't there, talk us through the scenes?
I’d love to say it was a 30 yard screamer but the reality is, it was a two yard tap in.
In added time with the Scoreline 1-1 we get a corner which is swung in and I just so happened to be in the right place at the right time. This ended up with a full squad pile on and most importantly 3 points.
You have played at a higher level, how does this current team compare to some of the teams you have played for ?
The squad that’s been assembled is full of quality and there’s a great squad depth. There’s no doubt in my mind that this team could more than hold its own in the league above.
What are your plans/targets for next season?
I’m sure we’ve got another celebration or two in us before we get on to next season, but when we do get there hopefully we’ve kept all the squad together. If that’s the case, although it will be difficult and take another monumental effort, there’s no reason for us not to be right up there challenging again.
